You can ship an eligible gaming console internationally when the console, controllers, batteries and accessories meet the selected service’s acceptance requirements and destination rules. Confirm the exact bundle before buying, protect the retail box inside a suitable outer carton, prepare an accurate invoice and compare the complete delivered cost.
PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo shipments do not all have the same battery configuration. Also check power compatibility, warranty coverage and any regional limitations affecting the games or accessories you plan to use.
Some gaming-console purchases can be forwarded internationally, but acceptance depends on the exact model, battery contents, condition, origin, destination and service.
A retailer’s willingness to deliver to your forwarding address does not confirm acceptance for the international leg. Before ordering, share the product link, model number, bundle contents and destination with Boxit4me if eligibility is unclear.
For general device-shipping guidance, see our electronics shipping guide. This page covers gaming consoles and their accessories.
| Product | Battery configuration to check | Shipping implication |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 with DualSense | PS5 is a mains-powered home console; the DualSense controller has a built-in lithium-ion battery | Include the controller in the battery-content assessment |
| Xbox Series X or Series S with a standard Xbox Wireless Controller | Home console uses mains power; the standard controller uses AA batteries or an optional rechargeable pack | Identify the actual battery type and whether a rechargeable pack is installed or separate |
| Other Xbox controller models | Battery arrangements vary by model | Confirm the specific controller rather than applying the standard-controller assumptions |
| Nintendo Switch 2 with Joy-Con 2 | Both the handheld console and Joy-Con 2 controllers contain rechargeable lithium-ion batteries | Disclose all battery-powered devices in the bundle |
| Other Nintendo Switch models and controllers | Check the console and every included controller separately | Use the exact model’s documentation |
| Extra batteries, power banks and wireless headsets | May introduce additional battery categories | Check acceptance separately from the console |
This table identifies what to check; it is not a carrier acceptance list.
Review Boxit4me’s battery shipping guidance before ordering a battery-powered console or accessory.
Confirm:
Follow the service’s current instructions. Do not assume one charge-level rule applies to every configuration, and do not remove a built-in battery to try to simplify shipping.
Disclose swollen, damaged or recalled batteries before sending anything to the warehouse. Ordinary forwarding should not be assumed available for them. Passenger-baggage allowances do not establish parcel-shipping eligibility.
Where available and suitable, retain the manufacturer’s inserts and retail box. Place the retail box inside a strong outer shipping carton with enough cushioning to prevent movement.
If you want the retail box preserved for collecting, gifting or resale, tell Boxit4me before repacking. Ask whether any inspection requires opening it. A fragile-item label does not replace protective packaging.
For an accepted shipment:
Avoid adding a loose spare battery or power bank without approval. Repacking should preserve protection even when reducing unnecessary outer volume.
Use suitable protective wrapping, firm internal support and a rigid outer carton. Ask for packing appropriate to the console’s weight and fragile surfaces. A handheld device needs screen protection as well as cushioning around its edges.
A console and accessories may arrive in separate retailer parcels. Check that the required items have arrived before arranging onward delivery.
Read the input voltage and frequency on the exact console or power adapter. A plug adapter changes the plug shape; it does not convert voltage.
If the label states an input range such as 100–240 V, compare that range with the destination supply and use a manufacturer-approved, correctly rated connection. Do not assume every model or imported bundle supports the same input range.
For Nintendo and other handheld systems, confirm that the charger supports the console and dock’s requirements. A USB-C connector alone does not establish charger compatibility.
Before purchasing abroad, confirm:
Retailer dispatch, warranty coverage and digital-content compatibility are separate questions. Obtain clear answers before paying, especially for imported bundles and used consoles.
The cost depends on the final packed weight and dimensions, origin, destination, service and selected handling or protection options.
Compare:
Console and accessories + retailer delivery + international shipping + selected services + applicable import duties, taxes and clearance charges.
Use Boxit4me’s shipping calculator with the measurements of the packed shipment.
Assume an outer carton measures 50 × 35 × 25 cm and the service uses a divisor of 5,000:
50 × 35 × 25 ÷ 5,000 = 8.75 kg dimensional weight
If the actual weight is 6 kg, the higher figure is 8.75 kg before the service’s billing rounding.
This is an invented packaging example, not a shipping rate. Confirm the applicable divisor, rounding and package limits. Removing useful cushioning to reduce the box size can increase damage risk.
Keep an invoice showing the actual purchase value, currency, quantity and model. Describe the console and accessories accurately, including battery information requested by the service.
For example: “One new video game console, model [model number], with one wireless controller and power cable.”
Declare extra controllers, headsets or other items as required. For a used console, state its actual condition and support the declared value with purchase records where available.
Check product classification, import charges and any required approvals for the destination. UAE and Saudi requirements should be checked separately. Do not assume that a purchase described as a gift is exempt from import charges.
Allow for retailer processing, delivery to the forwarding warehouse, packing, international transport, customs clearance and final delivery.
Check the current service estimate after all required parcels are ready. Preorder release dates do not guarantee the date a console will reach your destination.
Before dispatch, ask what shipment protection covers and whether exclusions apply to used devices, batteries, inadequate packaging or damage to the retail box. Check claim deadlines and retain purchase records.
Potentially, if the complete bundle is accepted for the route. The DualSense controller contains a lithium-ion battery, so disclose it even though the home console uses mains power.
Confirm the exact bundle and route first. The console and Joy-Con 2 controllers contain rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, which must be included in the shipping assessment.
Only when the service accepts that battery type and configuration. A separate rechargeable pack is not treated identically to a battery installed in a controller.
Compare the packed dimensions first. Preserve necessary protection, and tell Boxit4me if keeping the retail box intact matters to you.
Do not assume so. Confirm destination support and the repair or return process with the manufacturer and seller before purchasing.
