You can ship eligible home appliances internationally when the exact model, contents, packed size and destination meet the selected service’s requirements. Before buying, check electrical compatibility, batteries or refrigerants, protective packaging, customs documents and the complete delivered cost.
Small kitchen appliances and large household appliances need different shipping arrangements. Do not assume a refrigerator, washing machine or air conditioner can use the same parcel service as a blender.
Shipping acceptance and suitability for use are separate checks: an appliance can arrive safely but still be incompatible with your home’s electrical supply.
| Appliance type | Main checks before ordering |
|---|---|
| Blenders, mixers and food processors | Voltage, frequency, secure blades, bowls and detachable accessories |
| Coffee machines, kettles and air fryers | Electrical rating, glass or fragile parts, empty reservoirs and packed dimensions |
| Corded vacuums, fans and air purifiers | Power requirements, filters, removable parts and carton size |
| Cordless vacuums and robot cleaners | Battery type, rating, condition and shipping configuration |
| Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and some dehumidifiers | Refrigerant details, transport classification, handling and service availability |
| Washing machines, dishwashers and large cooking appliances | Weight, dimensions, transit restraints, installation requirements and delivery access |
| Gas-powered appliances | Gas type, any cylinders or residual fuel, transport acceptance and local installation requirements |
Review Boxit4me’s prohibited and restricted items guidance. Send the product link, full model number, specifications, quantity and destination for assessment when acceptance is unclear.
Confirm the specifications of the exact regional model, not only its brand or product name.
Ask the retailer for a photograph of the rating label and check:
A plug adapter changes the connection shape; it does not convert voltage or frequency. A voltage transformer also does not automatically resolve frequency, motor, grounding or warranty issues.
For example, a model labelled “120 V, 60 Hz” should not be assumed suitable for a supply requiring different specifications. Another product labelled “100–240 V, 50/60 Hz” may support a wider supply range, but you must check the complete appliance or power adapter specification.
Do not assume a device is dual voltage because it has a detachable cable. A UK purchase is not automatically suitable for every GCC destination either.
For high-power, hardwired or gas appliances, confirm installation compatibility with the manufacturer and a qualified local installer before purchasing.
Cordless vacuums and robot cleaners may contain lithium batteries. Identify all batteries included with the appliance, charging dock, remote control and spare accessories.
Confirm battery chemistry, rating and condition, and whether batteries are installed, packed separately with equipment or supplied as spares.
Follow Boxit4me’s battery shipping guidance and the instructions for the actual route. Do not add spare batteries without acceptance or dismantle a device to remove a built-in battery.
Prevent accidental activation as instructed. Disclose damaged, swollen or recalled batteries before dispatch. Battery presence does not mean every appliance is prohibited or every installed battery is accepted.
Refrigerators, air conditioners and some other cooling appliances can contain refrigerants that require transport assessment. Provide the refrigerant type, charge quantity and manufacturer’s transport information where requested.
Acceptance depends on the exact model, contents, route and service. A cooling appliance is not automatically accepted because it is new, switched off or empty of food.
Gas appliances need a separate check for cylinders, cartridges and residual fuel. Starter kits may also include cleaning liquids, aerosols or other restricted accessories.
Do not vent refrigerant, modify sealed systems or attempt to make equipment eligible by removing hazardous contents yourself. Any necessary preparation must follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the approved service’s requirements, using qualified technicians where needed.
A small appliance may fit an available parcel service. A large or heavy appliance may require a different arrangement, such as crating, pallet handling or a freight service.
Confirm availability with Boxit4me before ordering. Do not assume that delivering an oversized appliance to your shopping address guarantees onward shipping.
Ask about:
Shipping does not automatically include carrying an appliance upstairs, connecting water or gas, installation or disposal of the old unit.
Retain suitable manufacturer inserts, supports and protective packaging. A retail display box alone may not provide enough protection for international transport.
Do not dismantle sealed systems. For refrigeration equipment, follow model-specific orientation and post-transport instructions rather than applying a universal waiting time.
Keep the rating label, serial number, manuals and accessories available. “Fragile” and orientation labels support handling instructions but do not replace protective packaging.
Use the outer shipping dimensions and gross weight, including protective packaging. Product dimensions and net weight alone can underestimate the shipment.
For an illustrative carton measuring 60 × 45 × 40 cm, using a divisor of 5,000:
60 × 45 × 40 ÷ 5,000 = 21.6 kg dimensional weight
If its actual weight is 9 kg and the service bills the higher figure, the starting chargeable weight is 21.6 kg before service-specific rounding.
Confirm the actual divisor, limits, rounding and surcharges. Freight services may use a different pricing method.
Use Boxit4me’s shipping calculator for suitable parcels. For an oversized appliance, obtain a confirmed service and price based on the proposed packaging.
Package consolidation may reduce duplicated outer packaging for compatible purchases. Compare the final weight, dimensions and handling fees with separate shipping.
Preserve packaging needed to protect an appliance or support a return. Do not remove fitted protective inserts solely to make the carton smaller.
Keep heavy appliances separate from fragile household purchases where necessary. Reassess acceptance if adding batteries, liquids or other accessories to the same shipment.
Declare the actual condition. Before buying refurbished or used equipment, confirm shipping acceptance, destination eligibility, functionality and the seller’s warranty.
Request photographs of the appliance, rating label, serial number, accessories and any damage. Confirm how water reservoirs, filters and other user-serviceable parts will be prepared.
Warehouse package photographs do not establish that an appliance works or is electrically compatible. Agree any available inspection separately.
Faulty or non-working electrical equipment may raise additional import or waste-classification issues. Confirm eligibility before sending it.
Keep the invoice or purchase receipt showing the actual model, quantity, condition, value and currency.
Use a specific description, such as:
“One new electric countertop blender, brand [brand], model [model], rated [voltage/frequency], with [accessories].”
Add battery or refrigerant information where relevant and requested. Provide accurate country-of-manufacture information; the retailer’s country is not necessarily the product’s origin.
For the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other destinations, confirm whether product conformity, energy-efficiency, registration or other requirements apply to the exact appliance and shipment.
Saudi Arabia uses SABER for product conformity procedures. Check the relevant requirements and any applicable personal-import treatment with the destination representative; do not assume all parcels follow identical commercial procedures.
Do not use one customs classification or assumed duty rate for every appliance.
Compare the complete cost:
Appliance + retailer delivery + international shipping + packing and handling + applicable duties, taxes and clearance charges + any necessary installation.
Include currency or payment fees where relevant, without counting charges twice. Compare this total with the same model available locally, including local warranty and delivery.
Confirm whether the manufacturer supports the imported regional model in your country, whether parts are available and where a return must be sent. International return shipping can reduce or eliminate the original saving.
Check shipment protection limits, exclusions and claim requirements before dispatch. Declaring the purchase value does not automatically provide full replacement coverage.
On arrival, photograph visible damage and retain packaging. Follow the manufacturer’s installation and first-use instructions before switching the appliance on.
Confirm the exact model, contents, dimensions, destination and available service first. Acceptance of one appliance does not establish acceptance of every product in the category.
Only if the exact model meets the electrical and installation requirements of the intended supply. Check voltage, frequency, plug and manufacturer guidance before buying.
These require individual assessment of refrigerant contents, dimensions, packaging, handling and destination requirements. Do not assume ordinary parcel forwarding is available.
Only when suitable protection remains and the change is agreed with the service. Preserve fitted supports and packaging needed for returns.
It can be. Declare the condition, confirm destination eligibility and prepare the appliance according to its manual. Damaged batteries or faulty equipment need separate assessment.
